An extended warranty called the Fitbit Protection Plan (FPP) is available for purchase with certain Fitbit products purchased in the United States from fitbit.com. I just received my third replacement for my charge 3 under the one year warranty for screen issues. My one year warranty is up next month. I also just purchased my daughter and ace 2. After setting it up, through the the app I was offered a 2 year protection plan for 15.99. Since I have had multiple replacements on my charge 3 in the first year I wanted to see if I could also purchase this plan for the new charge 3 replacement I just received on Friday. Thank you.
Hi @Jreneau you can buy protection directly from Square Trade. Many of us on the forums have used it before. @Patruns is right. You can't get a warranty on your device. Square Trade asks for a receipt as proof of purchase, which would show an older date. If you get a warranty on the Ace, be sure to do it soon.
If you're in Europe the warranty is two years. That's pretty much worthless, though, if it still means that the device no longer works with your phone/tablet. I have a Samsung J5 phone which worked pretty well until the latest app update. Now it is useless even as a watch as the sync determines the time. I was considering upgrading to Versa 2 (my Charge 3 was the fourth Fitbit device purchased since 2015), but I know that it's the app that is incompatible with my phone. Why should I buy a new phone
I bought my fitbits at Best Buy, and they didn't have the offer for the Warranty through FitBit. I did get the offer in the app, but I didn't have the money at the time to buy the warranty (which was the day I bought two FitBits).
I read somewhere in the community questions that were answered in regards to the extended warranty that you can purchase it within 30 days of setting up the FitBit. I also read that the offer shows up in the app once or twice shortly after setting up the device - which I did experience.

I tried researching to see if I could buy the warranty separately before the 30 days is up (regardless of the price), but I read that it's only available at the time of purchase from ordering on the website. Which, I cannot do now, because I have already purchased the watches.
My partner really wants a charge 5, but I'm a bit worried with all the issues I've seen them have online with them breaking too soon. The fitbit protection plan seems pretty pricey, but it would cover accidental damage so I'm guessing they'd cover anything else too. Are they easy to work with Outside of that, is there a \"best\" extended warranty provider that is easy to work with if the device breaks/stops working too soon Don't need accidental damage protection, just if the device itself has issues. I saw best buy, Amazon, Walmart offer their own sort of warranty plans. Do you guys have experience/recommendations between these or other stores What's the best place to purchase the actual device for customer service/warranty options Thanks all!
When I purchased a Fitbit device about a year ago from Best Buy, they were very clear that their part of the guarantee is only for the 45 day return period. After that, the warranty was with Fitbit. Are you sure your new device will be covered by Best Buy for the duration of the warranty
You know I may have forgotten about them telling us about the return policy when we bought it and I wasn't upset or anything I was just scratching my head about it. I assume that Fitbit will honor the year warranty for the replacement tracker so my friend's wife will be able to use it if needed. I bought it in Jan this year and it has worked like a charm but I also know that nothing lasts forever, well at least longer than 6 mos. I'm ok though, I'm gifting the replacement to a friend's wife. I also think Canadians should be able to buy an extended warranty. Why don't we get equal treatment Despite getting a discount code to buy a new fitbit I may be going to a store where I CAN get an extended warranty even if I have to pay more. The extra coverage just makes me feel more comfortable with an expensive device like Fitbit.
Hi, I'm a potential customer of yours from Canada and I was about to purchase a Inspire HR and then I phoned to inquire about the extended warranty. It turns out that you only offer this to your US customers. I was wondering why this is and if there were any plans to change this and offer it to other countries as well My company has a deal in place with Fitbit in an effort to try and get its employees more active. They have 13,000+ employees they are offering this deal too but I'm sure some, if not most will think twice about purchasing a device if they can't get the extended warranty. In addition to this complaint I will be talking to a representative within my company to see if they are aware of this apparent oversight as well. I hope that your company sees the foolishness of this policy and sees fit to change it.
I definitely would purchase this extended warranty for Canada! I saw it first on the .com site, and looked everywhere for the ability to do the same when ordering from Canada. For the 4 devices we have purchased over the past 2 years, we would definitely have spent the extra money to get each an extended warranty - just for peace of mind! If this comes about we would absolutely support it financially. Just makes it easier to commit to buying a new device!Cheers!
I too, was given a discount to purchase another Fitbit but was very disappointed to find out I can't purchase extended warranty because I live in Canada. My original warranty expired and four months after that my fitbit versa bit the dust. I want to purchase another one but want the extended warranty option. If this isn't available, I too will go to a store where I can purchase the extra warranty - especially when I wore my fitbit for the first time in the water after the warranty period and that's when it died. If I purchase a new one (not from their site) I will make sure to wear it in the water right away under the warranty period.

I recently purchased the Sense and subsequently contacted Fitbit for an extended warranty option. Unfortunately it remains unavailable outside of the US, and I am a resident of Canada. I am currently in the 45 day free trial period, and this is a valid concern for me. The Apple line of watches (Sense's direct competitor) offers a global \"Applecare\" warranty and it leaves me wondering why Fitbit hasn't followed suit. I've been a Fitbit supporter for a number of years, but will be making a product decision based on pro's and con's.

I actually thought we could. The chat personal I was talking to when getting a coupon code said I would be able to purchase an extended warranty. Clearly he was from the US not realizing I was from Canada. I would have bought from another retailer JUST to be able to purchase the extended warranty.
I have a general complaint. I find it really unfair that Canadians cannot purchase an extended warranty but Americans can...something needs to be done. I have gone through 2 fitbit charge 4's in 2.5years and the only thing they offer is a discount for another purchase...I find fitbit is profiting on us, instead of helping all customers equally.
I wanted to note that I am, overall, very disappointed with the quality of your watches. I have been a Fitbit user for 5 years. I would expect a highly priced, \"quality product\" work or last for at least 5 years but the Fitbit products I've had, Blaze Ionic, Sense didn't even last a year, except my Aria scale, that works fine. I wonder if it is a manufacturing issue. I'd suggest to Fitbit, based on the bad track record, to increase the warranty to 2 years to keep their loyal clients. That would force you to source reliable manufacturing. It would also be important to offer extended warranty option and technical and servicing support beyond the warranty.
After doing some reading here it seems that there are a bunch of people who have reported issues with their fitbits. Since I just got mine, I was able to add the \"Square Trade Warrenty\" which extends the manufacturer warrenty. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this I have 30 days to cancel it, and if it won;t cover what breaks or if they make it hard to file a claim, I might just do that.
I've had several ST warranties, but fortunately never had to use them, so I can't speak to their service. I can, however, advise that if you are going to get one, call them. I got one
