Nokia 808 PureView gets 3G network compatibility fix
Nokia has released a new firmware update for its 41-megapixel camera phone, the Nokia 808 PureView. The update, version 2.30, is a ROM update that fixes a 3G bug that some users reported after installing the Belle FP2 update.
The 3G bug caused the device to reboot multiple times when using 3G data or voice services. According to Nokia, the fix prepares the device for possible network updates, without which voice and data services may stop working properly.
The update is available via Nokia Suite or over-the-air (OTA). Users can check for the update by going to Settings > Phone > Phone management > Device updates. The update size is about 1.2 MB and it does not affect the user data.
The Nokia 808 PureView is one of the last Symbian devices from Nokia. It features a 4-inch AMOLED display, a 1.3 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The main attraction of the device is its 41-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash, and lossless zoom. The device also supports Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement and HDMI output.

But the 808 PureView is not just about high-resolution stills. It also offers a unique feature called PureView mode, which uses pixel oversampling to create lower-resolution images with higher quality and lower noise. In PureView mode, the user can choose between 3MP, 5MP or 8MP output sizes, and also benefit from a 'lossless zoom' feature that allows up to 3X zoom (in 3MP mode) without any loss of detail or quality.
PureView mode also works in video recording, where the 808 PureView can capture 1080p HD video at up to 25Mb/s with up to 4X lossless zoom. The video quality is enhanced by Nokia's Rich Recording technology, which uses two microphones to record stereo sound at up to 140db. The 808 PureView also supports HDMI output, so you can watch your videos on a larger screen.
The Nokia 808 PureView is not just a camera with a phone attached. It also runs on Symbian Belle FP2, Nokia's latest version of its mobile operating system. Symbian Belle FP2 offers a revamped user interface, improved web browser, new widgets, and support for NFC and DLNA. The 808 PureView also comes with Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, and Nokia Music services preloaded.
The Nokia 808 PureView is a remarkable device that pushes the boundaries of mobile photography. It offers a combination of hardware and software features that no other smartphone can match. Whether you want to capture stunning high-resolution images, or create lower-resolution images with exceptional quality and zoom capabilities, the 808 PureView has you covered. It is not a perfect device though - it is bulky, heavy, and runs on an outdated operating system. But if you are looking for the ultimate camera phone, the Nokia 808 PureView is hard to beat. 061ffe29dd
