The z/OSMF workflow engine is planned to be updated to support immediate REXX and scriptexecution, as well as configurable job card information. This support is also available on z/OS V2.2 by PTF for APAR PI66824.
In the future, IBM intends toprovide a linkage between z/OSMF Software Management's deployment function and z/OSMF workflows so aworkflow can be initiated by a deployment operation. (See the Statements of general direction section for details.) z/OSMF already supports one workflowcalling another workflow. The new function will be designed to enable workflows to be used to manageinstallation-related and deployment-related tasks by linking from package-level workflows toproduct-level and component-level workflows as needed to help you perform these activities for bothinitial installation (for example, on a test system) and later deployments to additional systems(such as application test, application development, and production systems).
Plans are to provide enhancements to the CIM component, including a new CIM server configuration, maxRepositoryBackups, to configure the number of repository backups that can be kept in the file system as well as a mechanism to automatically delete the old repository backups. Note that JMPI support is now removed and the CIM server has been updated to Open Pegasus 2.14.
z/OS Workload Management (WLM) is planned to be enhanced with an option to cap a system to the MSU value that is specified as the soft cap limit regardless of the four-hour rolling average consumption. An IBM zEC12 (GA2), or higher, server is required. Absolute MSU capping is also available on z/OS V2.2 with PTF UA81256 and on z/OS V2.1 with PTF UA81257 for APAR OA49201.
The DFS/SMB server can be configured to start with all daemons in the DFS Server Address space or with the DFSKERN daemon in its own address space. z/OS V2.3 is designed to provide a method for the DFSKERN started task name to be configurable to allow for corporate naming conventions when running the DFSKERN daemon in its own address space. This support is also available on z/OS V2.2 by PTF for APAR OA50424.
A z/OSMF enhancement is planned to support workflow extensions for IBM Cloud Provisioning and Management for z/OS. Improvements to jobname creation,job card attributes, REST workflow steps, and a workflow editor are planned.

Warning We changed the internal serialization format which alsoaffects the workflow persistence layer. Workflows or data pool structuresthat are created or modified will use the new serialization format whichcannot be read by older versions! The following steps require two or more hosts which will be divided upinto admin, client, and server roles. One node can be used for multipleroles. For example the admin role can reside on a server, on a client,or on a dedicated admin node.
In this section the required RPMs will be installed on each of the nodesbased upon their role. Admin and client nodes require the installationof the daos-client RPM and the server nodes require the installation of thedaos-server RPM.
Save the addresses of the NVMe devices to use with each DAOS server,e.g. \\\"81:00.0\\\", from each server node. This information will beused to populate the \\\"bdev_list\\\" server configuration parameterbelow.
The CaRT self_test can run against the DAOS servers in a production environmentin a non-destructive manner. The only requirement is to have a formatted DAOSsystem and the DAOS agent running on the client node where self_test is run.
The mode is selected via the --master-endpoint option. If this option isnotified on the command line, then we are in the first mode and the self_testbinary itself issues the RPCs. If one or several master endpoint are specified,then we are in the cross-server mode.

When you add a connector to the safe lists, you configure Tableau Server to allow connections to a particular URL where the connector is hosted and from a URL which the connector can query. This is the only way to allow Tableau Server to run WDCs. The connectors can then be hosted on a server inside your organization's firewall or on an external domain. Importing WDCs is not supported for Tableau Server.
If the pending changes require a server restart, the pending-changes apply command will display a prompt to let you know a restart will occur. This prompt displays even if the server is stopped, but in that case there is no restart. You can suppress the prompt using the --ignore-prompt option, but this does not change the restart behavior. If the changes do not require a restart, the changes are applied without a prompt. For more information, see tsm pending-changes apply.
When a user creates a workbook that uses a WDC, Tableau Server creates an extract from the data returnedby the connector. If the user then publishes the workbook, the publish process sends the workbook and the data extract to the server.
Tableau can refresh an extract that was created by a WDC, the same as it can refresh any extract. If the connector requires credentials to sign in to the web-based data source, you need to ensure that the credentials are embedded with the data source, and that the WDC is on the safe list for the server. Tableau Server cannot refresh the extract if the connector requires credentials and they are not embedded with the data source. This is because the refresh can occur on a schedule or in some other background context, and the server cannot prompt for credentials.
If the server experiences problems with adding connectors to the safe list, you can examine the log files. Be sure to check the log files on both the initial server node andon the other nodes that are running the gateway process. For more information about log files, Tableau Server Logs and Log File Locations.
If the issue is that Tableau Server will not refresh an extract that was created by a WDC, make sure that the webdataconnector.refresh.enabled configuration setting has been set to true. If it is set to false, run the following command to allow extract refreshes for all WDCs on the server:
