Twinhan 1041 Driver

Could someone write a high level test of the driver to ensure that it actually works? A simple broadcast test will be problematic, as it will only be tunable to the frequency that is used in the test, and may change if the card is moved to another network. But perhaps someone might be able to use the driver to set the card and/or tuner to a particular frequency and then use the driver to test the channel data and receive errors.
However, the most obvious question remaining is whether there is any point in using the driver, given that support for the SkyStar 1 and SkyStar 2 cards is being removed by the manufacturer. See -dvb/2008-October/029642.html for a discussion of this.
The driver has been designed to support multiple cards on a single system, but is not able to do this at present. There are currently two mechanisms defined - one to enumerate cards with the 'legacy' scan ID, the other to enumerate cards with the 'new' scan ID. Neither of them will work if there is more than one card with the same scan ID (i.e. all cards with the same scan ID enumerated).
Update 3: since posting this, the above article has been updated to say that the Skystar HD2 is a Twinhan VP-1041/Azurewave AD SP400 rebadge, and a bug report ( -dvb/2008-March/026718.html) has been created to capture the change in the different subsystem IDs for this card.
