Effective executives know that they have authority only because they have the trust of the organization. It follows, then, that they must act in its interest and in a manner that best promotes its interests. So often, they hear from the organization that it wants, or is afraid to say, what it thinks. The book's real contribution is to show how each of the above practices can be developed.
* The individual executive must know what the enterprise wants to do, and what is right for it; so must the organization. The executive must put the interests of the enterprise first. The organization must select the right objectives. It must decide what it wants. The organization must have goals, and it must know how to achieve them. It must act as if the organization has a purpose. It must determine the nature of its orders and instructions. It must be a leader or a follower. It must act as if it were a single unit. All this is the domain of management; and management is the domain of the executive.
* Each individual must determine for himself which of his skills and talents are most effective in the work at hand. He must know his own strengths and weaknesses. He must know where and how he can best contribute. He must know his role in the organization. He must know how to identify which actions to perform and which to leave to others. He must know what to contribute, and he must know when to get out.
There are no rules in business, or in life, Drucker emphasizes. He defines leadership as the ability to effect change. He also defines leadership as the ability to see opportunities and lead people toward them. Both things are required of a successful executive. A successful executive leads by setting a direction and communicating it to the people in his organization.
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
